Why We Are Doing This

We believe it is time for Prime Minister Mark Carney to hear from every Christian in Canada.

We have all enjoyed the Christmas and New Year's break, but the House of Commons is returning on January 26 and Bill C-9 has not gone anywhere. When they convene, the Liberals plan to move Bill C-9 forward.

It is time for Christians to ramp up our opposition to this bill.

Prime Minister Mark Carney is the decision maker. He is the one who agreed to have the legal defence protection removed for "sincerely held religious beliefs", and he is the one who can change it.

We are hearing that the Liberal Party does not have a consensus internally on this, so it is important that we increase public pressure now!

Therefore, we are launching this campaign to ask every Christian in the country to join with us in this effort.

Dear Prime Minister Carney,

I am writing as a Canadian Christian with deep concerns regarding Bill C-9 and the direction your government is going.

Your removal of the "sincerely held religious beliefs" defence from Canada's Criminal Code is a direct threat to all Christians' ability to preach, teach, and live according to the Word of God.

The Bible is the foundation of our faith, and we have a long heritage in Canada of upholding biblical principles.

Pastors must be free to proclaim the whole counsel of Scripture — including on matters of marriage, gender, sexuality, and the sanctity of life — without fear of criminal prosecution.

Parents must be free to raise their children according to biblical truth. Christian schools and ministries must be free to uphold biblical standards.

2. Vote NO on Bill C-9

3. Defend the right of Canadians to live their faith without fear of criminal prosecution
